Long Term Residence Permit Consultancy

Foreigners who have stayed in Turkey uninterruptedly and legally for at least eight years with a valid residence permit may be entitled to a Long-term residence permit. However, refugees, conditional refugees, humanitarian residence permit holders and foreigners under temporary protection cannot apply for a long-term residence permit in our country.
In addition, in order to apply for a long-term residence permit, the following conditions must be met.
If the foreigner stays outside Turkey for more than one year, except for reasons such as education, health or compulsory public service, the residence permit may be revoked.

Long Term Residence Permit in Turkey

Basically, for each company establishment, the title of the company, the scope of its field of activity, its headquarters, who will be the manager/representative, capital and shares must be determined. By opening a bank account on the potential Tax ID (which will depend on the type of company and the amount of capital) 1/4 (25%) of the New Partnership capital (excluding the limited company) should be deposited into this account.
Company documents must be registered in the central registry system (MERSİS) and an application must be made to the trade registry directorate regarding the documents listed below:
• Not having received social assistance in the last three years
• Having a sufficient and regular source of income to provide for himself or his family, if any.
• Have valid health insurance
• Not to pose a threat to public order or public security
If the foreigner stays outside Turkey for more than one year, except for reasons such as education, health or compulsory public service, the residence permit may be revoked.

Minimum Income Amount of Long Term Residence Permit

Income must be at least 500 USD per month.
• Full Coverage Health Insurance
Full coverage health insurance is required. (Same criteria as short term)
• Not being involved in any crime in the last 3 years
This situation must be proven with the document to be obtained from the Turkish Courts. (Criminal record)
• Being in Turkey for 8 years
The main part of the application process is to prove that the applicant has a regular income and has stayed in Turkey for 8 years. (See below for terms)
• How long does it take for Long Term Residence Permit Applications?
Applications take up to 90 days. With the documents ready and delivered to the local police, the 90-day process begins.
• Does the long-term residence permit give the foreigner the right to work in Turkey?
No, it does not give the right to work.
• How is the general procedure applied?
Applications are made online and directly to the General Directorate of Migration Management – e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr
Withdrawal of Long Term Residence Permit
If you have been outside of Turkey for more than 6 months in a year or for a total of 1 year in the last 5 years excluding compulsory public services, education or health reasons, it will cause your residence to be interrupted. In cases where residence is terminated, previous residence periods are not counted towards a residence permit application or converted to another residence permit.

Long Term Residence Permit Conditions

• Having resided in Turkey continuously for at least 8 years
• Not benefiting from any kind of social support provided by the state in the last 3 years
• To have sufficient and appropriate resources to survive
• Having a valid health insurance
• Not to pose a threat to public order and security.
Persons who obtain a permanent residence permit after successful applications have the same rights as Turkish citizens, except for the following special applications:
Long-term residence permit holders are exempt from:
1. Compulsory military service,
2. The right to vote and be elected,
3. The right to enter public service,
4. Tax exemption when importing vehicles.
